Fire Country Season 5 Puts Station 42 Back on the Front Lines

Bode Leone finally earned his freedom.

That doesn't mean he's done running toward danger.

Fire Country returns for Season 5 on October 9, with Max Thieriot back as Bode Leone as Station 42 faces another round of massive fires, dangerous rescues and emergencies across Northern California.

Bode's journey began as a young inmate who joined a prison-release firefighting program hoping to shorten his sentence. Working alongside Cal Fire brought him back to his hometown of Edgewater, and forced him to confront the people, relationships and mistakes he'd left behind.

Now Bode is a free man, but firefighting remains at the center of his search for redemption.

Season 5 picks up after the catastrophic flooding caused by the Pineville Dam collapse, and Edgewater doesn't get much time to recover.

During the town's Founders' Day celebration, a massive sinkhole suddenly opens beneath Main Street, trapping residents and sending Bode and Station 42 into another high-stakes rescue.

The new season also introduces CJ Ryan, played by Olivia Thirlby, a mysterious urban firefighter whose arrival in Edgewater adds another new dynamic to the crew.

And the expanding Fire Country universe will cross paths again, with another Sheriff Country planned during the season.

Inspired by Thieriot's experiences growing up in Northern California fire country, the series continues following Bode as he builds a life beyond prison while doing a job where every call can become a fight for survival.

Bode spent years trying to earn his freedom.

Season 5 is about what he chooses to do with it.
