Avengers: Endgame Returns to Theaters With New Doomsday Footage

Welcome back to the endgame.

Marvel Studios is bringing Avengers: Endgame back to theaters beginning September 25, 2026, but this isn't simply another chance to experience one of the MCU's biggest movies on the big screen.

Titled Avengers Endgame: Encore, the special presentation will include an exclusive look at Avengers: Doomsday, which arrives in theaters December 18.

Originally released in 2019, Endgame followed the surviving Avengers after Thanos wiped out half of all life in Avengers: Infinity War. With everything seemingly lost, Earth's remaining heroes reunited for one final attempt to reverse the damage and bring the MCU's first decade of storytelling to an epic conclusion.

Seven years later, that story may be more important than fans realized.

Director Joe Russo has described revisiting Endgame as “required viewing” before Doomsday, explaining that there's a natural progression between the two films.

The re-release will also feature previously unseen footage set within the Doomsday story, creating a direct bridge between the two Avengers movies.

Fans seeing Encore in IMAX or an Infinity Vision-certified Premium Large Format theater will receive an additional sneak peek at Avengers: Doomsday.

Exactly what Marvel plans to reveal remains under wraps, but the Russo brothers have made one thing clear: something about Endgame matters to what happens next.

Avengers Endgame: Encore opens September 25, followed by Avengers: Doomsday on December 18.
