Avengers: Doomsday Brings Three Universes Together

The Avengers have faced world-ending threats before.

This time, one universe isn't big enough for the fight.

Avengers: Doomsday brings together heroes from three different realities for a massive confrontation with Doctor Doom, played by Robert Downey Jr.

Set after the events of Thunderbolts*, the film finds the Avengers, Wakandans and New Avengers of Earth-616 facing an existential threat that extends far beyond their own world.

They're going to need help.

The crisis brings them together with the Fantastic Four, arriving from their own universe, along with familiar X-Men from another reality.

Suddenly, heroes who were never supposed to occupy the same world find themselves on a collision course as Doctor Doom emerges as a threat capable of putting the entire multiverse at risk.

For longtime Marvel fans, the movie represents something that once seemed almost impossible on the big screen: the Avengers, Fantastic Four and X-Men fighting together in the same story.

But perhaps the biggest surprise is the man standing against them.

After spending more than a decade as Tony Stark/Iron Man, Robert Downey Jr. returns to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Victor von Doom, introducing one of Marvel's most powerful and iconic villains into the MCU.

Different teams.

Different worlds.

One common enemy.

And if Doctor Doom is powerful enough to bring all of them together, whatever is coming may require every hero the multiverse has left.
