About The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power — Season 3

The Rings of Power Season 3 Reveals the Forging of the One Ring

Middle-earth is at war.

And Sauron is closer than ever to controlling it all.

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power returns for Season 3 on November 11, bringing the story thousands of years before the events of The Lord of the Rings toward one of the most important moments in Middle-earth's history.

The creation of the One Ring.

Five years have passed since the fall of Eregion, and Sauron's armies have swept across Middle-earth, conquering kingdoms and leaving only a handful of strongholds standing against the growing darkness.

Now appearing in his legendary armored form, Sauron has become the Dark Lord audiences recognize from Tolkien's mythology.

His terrifying Ring-servants, the Nazgûl, roam Middle-earth, spreading fear as his forces tighten their grip on the remaining free peoples.

The Elves struggle to defend their surviving realms, including Lindon and Rivendell, protected by the power of their Three Rings.

Deep beneath the mountains, the Dwarves of Khazad-dûm have sealed themselves inside their ancient halls, where family divisions and growing threats continue testing their survival.

Meanwhile, the island kingdom of Númenor faces political unrest that threatens to tear it apart from within.

And in the eastern lands of Rhûn, Gandalf begins embracing the full extent of his identity and magical abilities as he attempts to turn the tide against the approaching darkness.

But Sauron's greatest weapon is still unfinished.

Inside his newly completed fortress of Barad-dûr in Mordor, the Dark Lord works relentlessly to create something capable of bending the remaining powers of Middle-earth to his will.

One Ring to rule them all.

As Galadriel continues her journey toward becoming the powerful Lady of Lothlórien, the Elves, Dwarves, Men and Wizards must find a way to overcome their differences before Sauron completes his plan.

Season 3 brings audiences to a defining chapter in Tolkien's mythology, revealing how the weapon at the center of The Lord of the Rings came into existence.

The free peoples of Middle-earth are fighting to preserve their world.

Sauron is preparing to forge the one thing that could enslave it forever.

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 3 premieres exclusively on Prime Video November 11, 2026, with four episodes. Episodes 5–6 arrive November 18, followed by the final two episodes November 25.
