THE GREATEST

The Greatest Reveals the Man Behind Muhammad Ali

The world knew him as “The Greatest.”

But before Muhammad Ali became one of the most recognizable figures in history, he was Cassius Clay, a young man from Louisville, Kentucky, with extraordinary talent and an even bigger belief in himself.

The Greatest brings Ali's remarkable life to the screen in an eight-episode Prime Video drama starring Jaalen Best as Cassius Clay/Muhammad Ali.

The series follows Ali's journey from an ambitious young boxer to a heavyweight champion whose influence would eventually extend far beyond the sport that made him famous.

Inside the ring, Ali became known for his lightning-fast movement, fearless confidence and unforgettable battles against some of boxing's biggest names.

Outside the ring, his life was equally remarkable.

As Ali's fame grew, so did his willingness to challenge expectations, speak openly about his beliefs and make decisions that would shape both his career and his place in American history.

But The Greatest isn't simply another story about championship fights and historic victories.

It's about the man behind the legend.

The series explores Ali's relationships with the people closest to him, including his parents, Cassius Clay Sr. (Omari Hardwick) and Odessa “Bird” Clay (Dana Gourrier), and his brother Rudy Clay (Kai Parham).

It also introduces important figures who helped shape different chapters of his life, including Malcolm X (Michael Ealy), legendary trainer Angelo Dundee (Giovanni Ribisi) and heavyweight rival Sonny Liston (Amin Joseph).

As the first authorized scripted series about Muhammad Ali, The Greatest was developed with unprecedented access to his estate, allowing the story to explore the personal experiences and relationships that helped shape him beyond the public spotlight.

The series is executive produced by Ben Watkins, Michael B. Jordan, Shawn Carter and Ali's widow, Lonnie Ali.

For generations, Muhammad Ali has been remembered as a boxing champion, cultural icon and humanitarian whose influence reached around the world.

But behind the championships, famous speeches and unforgettable moments was also a husband, father, brother and son.

The world remembers Muhammad Ali as “The Greatest.”

This is the story of the man who became him.

The Greatest premieres with all eight episodes November 4, 2026, exclusively on Prime Video.
