The Drop: A Snowfall Saga Takes Wanda and Leon Into the Rise of West Coast Rap

The streets are changing, and Wanda Bell sees what could be coming next.

The Drop: A Snowfall Saga continues the world of Snowfall, following Wanda Bell (Gail Bean) and Leon Simmons (Isaiah John) as they attempt to reinvent their lives in 1990s Los Angeles.

With the city still dealing with the devastating aftermath of the crack epidemic, a new cultural force is beginning to take shape: West Coast rap.

Wanda believes the music has the power to change American culture, and she's determined to become part of that future. She begins assembling an unlikely group of talented artists while navigating a music business where ambition, street politics and survival are becoming increasingly connected.

Her journey brings in her cousins Lamar and James Kinsey (Asante Blackk and Peyton Alex Smith), along with volatile local rapper Artillery (Simmie “Buddy” Sims III), whose problems with law enforcement could complicate Wanda's plans before they really get started.

An internship with former drug dealer turned record-label owner Darryl “DG” Grant (Brandon Mychal Smith) gives Wanda an opportunity to move closer to the industry, but also creates new tension at home.

Leon wants something very different.

Determined to leave the streets behind, he focuses on redemption and helping his community through a free legal clinic. As Wanda moves deeper into the worlds of music and street politics, their different paths begin putting pressure on the life they're trying to build together.

The Drop trades Snowfall's rise of the crack cocaine trade for another transformation happening in Los Angeles, the emergence of a music scene that would eventually influence the world.
