into the world of Taken: Natalee Holloway.
Natalee Holloway traveled to Aruba to celebrate her high school graduation.
She never made it home.
Taken: Natalee Holloway is a three-part Netflix documentary series revisiting the disappearance of an 18-year-old Alabama teenager whose case became one of the most widely followed missing-person investigations in American history.
On May 30, 2005, Natalee disappeared during a graduation trip to Aruba with classmates from her hometown.
When she failed to board her scheduled flight home, what began as a search for a missing teenager quickly became an international investigation.
The case dominated headlines.
Search teams combed the island, investigators pursued leads, and Natalee's family spent years trying to understand what happened during her final hours.
At the center of that search was her mother, Beth Holloway.
For more than two decades, Beth refused to give up on finding answers about her daughter's disappearance, even as the investigation stretched across countries and years passed without a resolution.
Then, in 2023, the case reached a major turning point.
Joran van der Sloot, a longtime suspect in Natalee's disappearance, confessed to killing her as part of proceedings in a separate federal extortion and wire fraud case.
For Beth, the confession provided long-awaited answers, though Natalee's remains have never been recovered.
Directed by Dani Sloane and Matthew Galkin, Taken: Natalee Holloway revisits the investigation through the people closest to Natalee, including exclusive interviews with her mother, investigators and individuals who were with her during the trip.
The series also features previously unseen footage, personal accounts and new details surrounding the investigation and its lasting impact on those involved.
But beyond the headlines, theories and years of public attention, the documentary returns to the person at the center of it all.
An 18-year-old girl celebrating a milestone with her friends.
And a mother who spent more than 20 years searching for the truth.
The world remembers the disappearance. This is about remembering Natalee.
Taken: Natalee Holloway begins streaming November 4, 2026, exclusively on Netflix.
