The Slow Horses are used to cleaning up messes. This time, they may not get the chance.
Slow Horses returns for Season 6 on September 16, with Gary Oldman back as the brilliant, abrasive and perpetually irritated Jackson Lamb.
The darkly funny espionage series follows a group of disgraced British intelligence agents assigned to Slough House, an MI5 dumping ground for spies whose career-ending mistakes have pushed them out of the agency's inner circle.
They may not be MI5's first choice for saving the country, but somehow they keep finding themselves in the middle of its most dangerous situations.
Season 6 raises the stakes considerably.
The Slow Horses find themselves on the run after Diana Taverner pulls them into a deadly game of retaliation and revenge, forcing Lamb and his dysfunctional team to survive a situation where the people hunting them may know exactly how they operate.
The season also brings back a familiar face.
Olivia Cooke returns as Sidonie “Sid” Baker, reuniting with the world of Slough House after her fate became one of the show's lingering mysteries.
Based on Joe Country and Slough House, the sixth and seventh novels in Mick Herron's acclaimed book series, Season 6 once again mixes British spy intrigue with the dysfunctional personalities, dark humor and questionable decision-making that have defined the series.
Jackson Lamb's team may be a collection of MI5 rejects.
But when they're the ones being hunted, underestimating them could be a very bad idea.
Slow Horses Season 6 premieres September 16 on Apple TV and Prime Video with an Apple TV+ subscription, with new episodes streaming Wednesdays through October 21.
