R.J. Decker Season 2 Brings More Strange Cases to South Florida

R.J. Decker has already lost one career. His second one isn't exactly keeping him out of trouble.

Scott Speedman returns in Season 2 of R.J. Decker as a disgraced newspaper photographer and ex-con attempting to rebuild his life as a private investigator in South Florida.

Inspired by Carl Hiaasen's novel Double Whammy, the series sends Decker into a colorful world where the cases can range from slightly unusual to completely bizarre — and the people surrounding them are often just as unpredictable.

Fortunately, Decker doesn't have to solve everything alone.

His unusual support system includes his journalist ex, her police detective wife and a former cellmate who has become one of his closest confidants.

Then there's the mysterious woman from Decker's past.

She's become an unexpected benefactor who could prove to be one of his greatest allies. But with Decker's criminal history already hanging over him, trusting the wrong person could also send him straight back to prison.

Season 2 wastes little time embracing the show's stranger side.

The premiere features Dancing with the Stars favorites Jenna Johnson and Val Chmerkovskiy, along with The Bachelor star and DWTS champion Joey Graziadei, bringing a little ballroom flair into Decker's Florida noir world.

For a man trying to start his life over, Decker keeps finding himself surrounded by exactly the kind of trouble he should probably be avoiding.

Then again, trouble is pretty much his new business.

R.J. Decker Season 2 premieres Tuesday, September 15 at 10 p.m. ET on ABC.  Also, stream next day on Disney+ and Hulu.
