Outlander: Blood of My Blood Season 2 Puts Two Love Stories to the Test

Long before Jamie and Claire, two other love stories helped shape the world of Outlander.

Outlander: Blood of My Blood returns for Season 2, continuing the stories of Jamie Fraser and Claire Beauchamp's parents across two different periods in history.

In the Scottish Highlands, the death of Red Jacob throws Clan MacKenzie into turmoil as his sons Colum and Dougal battle over who should become the next Laird.

Caught between them is their sister Ellen MacKenzie, who has no intention of allowing her brothers to use her future to strengthen their own political ambitions.

That becomes considerably more complicated when Ellen falls for Brian Fraser, a member of a rival clan.

With their families standing against them, Ellen and Brian must decide how much they're willing to risk for a relationship that could have consequences far beyond their own lives.

Meanwhile, Henry Beauchamp and Julia Moriston face a very different struggle.

Their relationship begins during World War I after Julia discovers a letter written by Henry while working in a censorship office. Their correspondence grows into something deeper, giving both of them hope for a life together after the war.

But their journey eventually takes them to the Scottish Highlands, where an unexpected accident separates them and sends their lives in a direction neither could have imagined.

Across two generations, Season 2 brings both couples to the same question that has always been at the heart of Outlander:
