Marshals Season 2 Brings Kayce Dutton Back to Montana

Kayce Dutton is back, but life after the Yellowstone Ranch hasn't exactly gotten any easier.

Luke Grimes returns as Kayce when Marshals begins its second season continuing his story beyond Yellowstone as he puts his unique set of skills to work with an elite unit of U.S. Marshals.

With the Yellowstone Ranch behind him, Kayce has entered a new chapter that combines two important parts of his past: his instincts as a cowboy and his experience as a Navy SEAL.

Now he's using both to bring justice to some of the most dangerous situations across Montana.

Kayce works alongside fellow Marshals Pete Calvin (Logan Marshall-Green), Belle Skinner (Arielle Kebbel), Andrea Cruz (Ash Santos) and Miles Kittle (Tatanka Means). Together, the team serves as one of the region's last lines of defense against violent crime.

But Marshals isn't only about the cases they pursue.

Season 2 continues exploring the psychological cost of doing a job where violence and danger are part of everyday life, while Kayce tries to balance his responsibilities as a Marshal with the people who still matter most to him.

That includes his son Tate (Brecken Merrill), along with familiar Yellowstone characters Mo (Mo Brings Plenty) and Thomas Rainwater (Gil Birmingham) from the Broken Rock reservation.

The Yellowstone Ranch may be behind Kayce, but the relationships, experiences and scars from that life aren't so easy to leave behind.

And in Montana, there's still plenty of work for a Dutton to do.

Marshals Season 2 premieres Sunday, October 4 on CBS and streams on Paramount+ the day after it airs.
