Doc Season 3 Brings Amy’s Missing Past Back to Haunt Her

Amy Larsen has spent years trying to recover the life she can't remember. Now some of those memories may finally be coming back — and they aren't what she expected.

Molly Parker returns as Dr. Amy Larsen in Season 3 of Doc, the medical drama inspired by a true story and based on the hit Italian series.

Amy's life changed after a brain injury erased the previous eight years of her memory. Suddenly, she couldn't remember patients she'd treated, relationships she'd damaged, the man she'd fallen in love with or even watching her daughter grow from a 9-year-old child into a teenager.

She also lost nearly a decade of medical knowledge and experience.

Since then, Amy has been rebuilding her career at Westside Hospital while attempting to understand the person she became during those missing years.

Season 3 could finally provide some answers.

Amy begins experiencing disturbing flashbacks involving Dr. Grant, and as pieces of their history return, she realizes he may have been deceiving her.

At the same time, Amy faces another major adjustment at the hospital as she and Dr. Sonya Maitra enter a new professional relationship as co-chiefs. Their complicated history and existing tensions make sharing authority considerably easier on paper than in practice.

For Amy, recovering her memories has always represented a chance to finally understand what happened during the eight years that disappeared.

But Season 3 introduces a more troubling possibility:

Doc Season 3 premieres Tuesday, September 22 at 9/8c on FOX, with episodes streaming the next day on Hulu.  Also, stream seasons 1 and 2 on Prime Video.
