About Dig

DIG Turns an Archaeological Discovery Into an International Conspiracy

They went to Greece to dig up ancient history.

Instead, they may have uncovered something that could change it.

DIG is a new Peacock comedy from Amy Poehler and Mike Schur, the creative duo behind Parks and Recreation, following a group of archaeologists whose summer excavation takes a wildly unexpected turn.

Poehler stars as Elise, the lead archaeologist overseeing a dig site in Greece, where a team of dedicated researchers and considerably less enthusiastic college students have gathered to uncover pieces of the ancient world.

At first, it's the kind of archaeological expedition you'd expect.

Long days digging through dirt, examining artifacts and hoping to discover something worth the effort.

Then the team makes an extraordinary discovery.

They uncover a rare artifact connected to a secret that could change history as they know it.

Suddenly, their summer research project becomes something considerably more dangerous.

What begins as an exciting archaeological find pulls four women into the middle of a volatile international conspiracy, where the questions surrounding their discovery become much bigger than anything they expected to encounter.

And uncovering the truth may be harder than digging up the artifact in the first place.

The series also stars Geraldine Viswanathan as Dylan, Antonia Thomas as Clare, Fina Strazza as Patty and Hugh Laurie as British professor Neville.

Based on Kate Myers' 2023 novel Excavations, the 10-episode series combines an archaeological mystery with the character-driven humor associated with Poehler and Schur's previous television work.

The cast also includes guest appearances from Kayvan Novak, Jon Pointing and Bonita Friedericy.

For a group of archaeologists, discovering something that changes history would normally be the opportunity of a lifetime.

They just didn't expect the discovery to turn their own lives upside down.

All 10 episodes of DIG begin streaming exclusively on Peacock November 23, 2026.
