Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 Brings a New Crew Into Night City

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 returns to the dangerous world of Cyberpunk 2077 with an entirely new group of outsiders trying to survive in a city where technology, violence and ambition can destroy just about anyone.

Set in Night City, the futuristic metropolis where corporations hold enormous power and body modifications have become part of everyday life, the new season tells a standalone story separate from the events of the original anime.

At the center is a young street kid with everything to lose.

In a city where survival often means becoming more dangerous than the people hunting you, he takes a path that could either save his life or destroy it.

He becomes an edgerunner.

These mercenary outlaws operate outside society's rules, taking dangerous jobs and relying on advanced cybernetic enhancements to survive in Night City's violent underworld.

But the new story isn't simply about surviving another day.

Season 2 explores redemption and revenge, following a fresh crew of misfits whose choices pull them deeper into a world where reputation can be everything and life can be worth very little.

And in a city obsessed with spectacle, there's another question hanging over their journey:

Produced by CD PROJEKT RED, the company behind the Cyberpunk 2077 video game, and animated by Japan's acclaimed Studio Trigger, the series brings back the franchise's distinctive blend of futuristic technology, explosive action and emotionally charged storytelling.

The new installment features a different cast of characters and a reimagined animation style, with Hiroyuki Imaishi directing and music composed by Akira Yamaoka, known for his work on the Silent Hill games.

Fans of the original Cyberpunk: Edgerunners won't need to follow the same characters into another chapter.

Night City has plenty of other stories waiting to be told.

And this time, a new group of mercenaries is about to discover what it costs to become a legend.
