Brothers Turns a Lifelong Friendship Into a Family Mystery

Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson have been friends for decades.

But what if they've actually been brothers this whole time?

Apple TV's Brothers stars McConaughey and Harrelson as fictionalized versions of themselves in a new comedy that turns their real-life friendship into a very unexpected family mystery.

The story begins after the wedding of Woody's daughter falls apart. Looking for somewhere to regroup, Woody packs up his family and heads to Austin for an extended stay at Matthew's ranch.

What was supposed to be a quiet getaway doesn't stay quiet for long.

Matthew's mother, Ma Mac (Holland Taylor), accidentally reveals a decades-old family secret suggesting the two longtime friends might actually share the same father.

Woody immediately wants answers.

His determination to uncover the truth begins turning Matthew's ranch upside down, while Matthew has another potentially life-changing decision of his own to consider:

Running for Governor of Texas.

Suddenly, one man is questioning his family history while the other is questioning what his future might look like, all while their friendship is being tested in ways neither of them expected.

The eight-episode comedy plays with the blurred line between fact and fiction, taking McConaughey and Harrelson's famously close real-world friendship and asking the question people have joked about for years:

Brothers premieres with two episodes September 23 on Apple TV, followed by new episodes Wednesdays through November 4.  Also, stream on Prime Video with an Apple TV+ suvscription.
