Adults Season 2 Makes Growing Up Even More Complicated

Growing up is hard. Growing up while living with four of your closest friends might be even harder.

FX's Adults returns for Season 2 with Samir, Billie, Paul Baker, Issa and Anton still sharing Samir's childhood home in New York and attempting to figure out love, careers, family and friendship while becoming something resembling responsible adults.

Malik Elassal, Lucy Freyer, Jack Innanen, Amita Rao and Owen Thiele return as the five twenty-somethings at the center of the ensemble comedy.

Season 2 puts an even bigger focus on responsibility and all the strange ways the group manages to avoid dealing with it directly.

Billie confronts the uncomfortable realization that the 20-year-old who inherited her old fake ID might actually be cooler than she was. Anton deals with changes inside his family and problems at work. Samir's relationship takes an unexpected turn, while Issa and Paul Baker continue navigating their own increasingly complicated lives.

But the bigger challenge may be figuring out how five people can continue growing individually without growing apart.

Created by Ben Kronengold and Rebecca Shaw, Adults finds much of its comedy in the awkward space between technically being an adult and actually feeling like one. The friends make questionable decisions, invent complicated solutions to problems they could probably solve by simply talking to each other and repeatedly discover new ways to make mistakes.

Yet underneath all the chaos, they continue getting one important thing right:

They show up for each other.
