Victorian Psycho Brings Murder to a Gothic Manor
The new governess at Ensor House is a little unusual.
Then people start disappearing.
Victorian Psycho stars Maika Monroe as Winifred Notty, an eccentric young governess who arrives at a remote English manor in 1858 and quickly gives its residents reason to wonder exactly whom they've invited into their home.
At first, Winifred attempts to settle into life at Ensor House.
But strange events begin following her arrival, and members of the household staff start mysteriously disappearing.
Coincidence becomes increasingly difficult to believe.
As suspicion spreads through the manor, its owners begin questioning Winifred's behavior and whether their mysterious new governess might be hiding something considerably darker beneath the surface.
The film also stars Thomasin McKenzie, Ruth Wilson and Jason Isaacs.
Written by Virginia Feito and based on her 2025 novel of the same name, Victorian Psycho combines gothic atmosphere, dark humor and psychological horror while putting a decidedly twisted spin on the traditional Victorian governess story.
Ensor House may look like the kind of place where something terrible has happened.
The bigger problem is that something terrible may have just arrived.
