VERITY

Verity Turns a Writing Job Into a Dangerous Obsession

Lowen Ashleigh was hired to finish another woman's books.

Then she discovered something that may have never been meant to be read.

Based on Colleen Hoover's bestselling novel, Verity stars Dakota Johnson as Lowen, a struggling writer offered an opportunity that could change her career: complete the successful book series of acclaimed author Verity Crawford, played by Anne Hathaway.

Unable to finish the books herself, Verity leaves behind years of notes and material for Lowen to sort through at the remote Crawford estate.

That's where Lowen finds something unexpected.

Hidden among Verity's work is what appears to be an autobiographical manuscript filled with disturbing confessions about her life, her family and her husband, Jeremy, played by Josh Hartnett.

The more Lowen reads, the more difficult it becomes to determine exactly what she's discovered.

Is Verity's manuscript a confession?

Is it fiction?

Or is someone manipulating the truth?

The situation becomes even more complicated as Lowen grows closer to Jeremy, blurring the boundaries between her professional opportunity, her attraction to Verity's husband and her growing obsession with uncovering what really happened inside the Crawford family.

Soon, Lowen isn't simply finishing another writer's story.

She's trying to determine which version of that story is actually true.

Part psychological thriller and part twisted relationship drama, Verity turns one writer's words into a mystery where fiction and reality may be almost impossible to separate.

Because sometimes the most dangerous thing a writer can leave behind is the truth.

Verity released in theaters on October 2, 2026 is currently available to rent or buy on demand.
