Long before Hollywood came calling, Mr. T was building the larger-than-life persona that would eventually make him a pop culture icon.

His breakthrough into entertainment led to one of his most memorable roles as Clubber Lang opposite Sylvester Stallone in Rocky III. Soon afterward, he became a television superstar as B.A. Baracus on The A-Team, helping turn his distinctive look, personality and attitude into something audiences immediately recognized.

But the man behind the character has a much bigger story.

The retrospective documentary sits down with Mr. T himself to explore the experiences that shaped Laurence Tureaud before fame, how he created the image that made him famous and what happened after the world suddenly knew his name.
