UNABOMBER

Everyone knows his name, but there's a lot more to his story than most people realize.

The upcoming film Unabomber takes viewers inside the life of Ted Kaczynski (Jacob Tremblay), the man behind a nearly two-decade mail bombing campaign that killed three people and injured 23 others.

Long before becoming one of America's most notorious domestic terrorists, Kaczynski was a gifted mathematics prodigy. He graduated high school early and earned a scholarship to Harvard, where he crossed paths with Professor Henry Murray (Russell Crowe). There, Kaczynski became involved in controversial psychological experiments that would become another troubling chapter in his increasingly isolated life.

The film follows his transformation from brilliant young student to a man consumed by obsession, anger and isolation, while also tracing the investigation that ultimately leads FBI agent Joanne Miller (Shailene Woodley) to his capture.

Director Janus Metz says audiences should expect plenty of twists along the way.

“Unabomber is a story about a young man who feels increasingly disenfranchised by society and decides to take up violence as a means of revenge,” Metz says. “We crosscut between two timelines, roughly speaking: the making of the Unabomber and the capture of the Unabomber.”
