TYLER PERRY'S THE GOSPEL OF CHRISTMAS

The Gospel of Christmas Brings Faith, Family and Gospel Music Together

Pastor Isaac came to New York hoping to save a church.

He may have to rediscover his own faith along the way.

Tyler Perry's The Gospel of Christmas brings together Tank and Fantasia Barrino in a holiday musical drama about a family facing an extraordinary challenge just as Christmas approaches.

Tank stars as Isaac, a struggling pastor who moves his family to New York City after taking responsibility for his family's church in a troubled neighborhood.

His wife, Rebecca (Fantasia Barrino), joins him as they attempt to build a new life while helping restore a church that has fallen on difficult times.

But the situation is worse than Isaac expected.

The congregation is struggling, the building faces foreclosure, and the surrounding community has lost much of the hope and connection the church once provided.

And Christmas is getting closer.

As Isaac works to bring the church back to life, he faces personal doubts, unexpected temptations and a dangerous adversary determined to stand in his way.

Saving the building may require more than raising money or bringing people back through its doors.

Isaac must also confront his own struggles and rediscover the faith that inspired him to become a pastor in the first place.

Written and directed by Tyler Perry, the film combines its story of faith, family and community with musical performances from some of gospel music's most recognizable voices.

The soundtrack, produced by Kirk Franklin, blends traditional and contemporary gospel with holiday music and rap, bringing a musical dimension to Isaac's journey.

At its heart, The Gospel of Christmas is about a family trying to restore something that means much more than the building itself.

Isaac came to New York believing he needed to save a church.

But sometimes the person trying to perform the miracle needs one too.

Tyler Perry's The Gospel of Christmas begins streaming exclusively on Netflix November 11, 2026.
