The Thomas Crown Affair Puts Michael B. Jordan Behind the Perfect Heist

For Thomas Crown, stealing the painting is only part of the game.

Michael B. Jordan directs, produces and stars in The Thomas Crown Affair, a new romantic heist thriller built around wealth, deception and a dangerous game of attraction.

Jordan plays Thomas Crown, a billionaire with the money to buy almost anything he wants.

Apparently, buying it isn't nearly as much fun as stealing it.

When another heist creates the perfect distraction, Crown executes an elaborate plan to steal a valuable painting without drawing attention to himself.

It seems like the perfect crime.

Then an insurance investigator starts putting the pieces together.

As she closes in on Crown, their investigation turns into a sophisticated game of cat and mouse where neither is entirely sure whether they're pursuing the truth, manipulating the other or falling in love.

The film also stars Kenneth Branagh, Adria Arjona, Lily Gladstone, Danai Gurira and Pilou Asbæk.

This marks the latest interpretation of a story first brought to the screen in 1968, followed by the popular 1999 version starring Pierce Brosnan and Rene Russo. Jordan's film introduces a new generation to the billionaire thief while putting his own spin on the combination of romance, luxury and high-stakes crime that has defined The Thomas Crown Affair.

Because when every move is part of the plan, the real question isn't whether Thomas Crown can pull off the heist.
