Based on Ali Hazelwood's bestselling novel, The Love Hypothesis stars Lili Reinhart and Tom Bateman in a romantic comedy about two scientists who accidentally turn one impulsive kiss into a very complicated experiment.

Reinhart plays Olive, a brilliant Ph.D. candidate who's far more focused on building her future in academia than finding romance.

Then her best friend Ahn develops feelings for Jeremy, the guy Olive was interested in.

Wanting to convince Ahn that she's completely moved on, Olive does something decidedly unscientific:

She impulsively kisses Adam Carlsen (Bateman), an intimidating professor who happens to be standing nearby.

One awkward moment soon becomes an arrangement.

Olive and Adam agree to pretend they're dating, complete with rules and boundaries designed to make their fake relationship beneficial for both of them.

The longer Olive and Adam keep pretending to be a couple, the harder it becomes to determine which parts of their relationship are actually fake.
