About Steps
Steps Gives Cinderella’s Evil Stepsisters a Whole New Story
Everyone knows Cinderella's story.
The glass slipper. The royal ball. The handsome prince.
But what if the so-called evil stepsisters have been getting a bad rap all these years?
Steps takes the classic Cinderella fairy tale and turns it upside down, telling the story from the perspective of Lilith, one of Cinderella's stepsisters, voiced by Ali Wong.
Lilith is tired of living in Cinderella's shadow.
While Cinderella seems destined for a magical happily ever after, Lilith and her sister Margot (Stephanie Hsu) are stuck playing the villains in someone else's fairy tale.
So Lilith decides to change the story.
She steals the Fairy Godmother's magic wand.
With Margot by her side, Lilith crashes the royal ball and attempts to take control of her own destiny.
Unfortunately, things don't exactly go according to plan.
Their interference creates an opportunity for Priscilla (Nikki Glaser), a power-hungry schemer who seizes control of the kingdom and threatens everyone's future.
Suddenly, Lilith has a much bigger problem than being overlooked.
And the only person who might be able to help her fix everything?
Cinderella herself.
Voiced by Amanda Seyfried, Cinderella reluctantly joins Lilith on an adventure that takes them through dangerous forests, encounters with biker trolls and confrontations with enemies determined to stop them.
Along the way, the two discover that they may have more in common than either ever realized.
Directed by Alyce Tzue and John Ripa, the animated adventure also features Daniel Radcliffe as the Prince, Bette Midler as the Fairy Godmother, Peter Dinklage as Roderick and Young Mazino as Gef.
Produced by Amy Poehler, Jane Hartwell and Kim Lessing, Steps also features original music from JENNIE, Rose Gray, EMEI and Amanda Seyfried, with a score by Academy Award winner Kris Bowers.
But beneath the magic, comedy and fairy-tale chaos is a story about belonging, sisterhood and discovering that people aren't always as good, or as evil, as their reputations suggest.
Cinderella already got her happily ever after.
This time, her stepsisters want one too.
Steps begins streaming exclusively on Netflix November 20, 2026.
