Practical Magic 2 Brings the Owens Sisters Back

The Owens sisters are back — and so is the curse that has haunted their family for generations.

Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman reunite in Practical Magic 2, returning as Sally and Gillian Owens nearly three decades after audiences first entered their magical world.

The original Practical Magic introduced the Owens family, generations of witches living under a devastating curse that prevents them from finding lasting love without facing terrible consequences.

Now that family history is coming back to haunt them.

Practical Magic 2 finds the Owens sisters confronting a powerful dark curse threatening to unravel their family once and for all. Breaking it will require multiple generations of the Owens family to confront long-buried secrets and determine what they're willing to sacrifice for one another.

Bullock and Kidman aren't the only familiar faces returning.

Dianne Wiest and Stockard Channing reprise their roles as Aunt Jet and Aunt Franny, bringing another generation of Owens witches back into the story.

Based on Alice Hoffman's 2021 novel The Book of Magic, the sequel expands the mythology surrounding the Owens family while returning to the mix of sisterhood, romance, humor and supernatural chaos that made the 1998 film a fan favorite.

The Owens women have spent generations living with a curse.

This time, they may finally have a chance to end it.
