MINIONS & MONSTERS

Minions & Monsters Sends the Minions to Old Hollywood

Before the Minions found supervillains to serve, they apparently tried making movies.

Minions & Monsters takes the Despicable Me franchise back to 1920s Hollywood, where the Minions accidentally stumble into the early days of the movie business.

Leaderless and searching for something to do, three Minions in particular, James, Henry and Ed, become fascinated by the creativity and excitement surrounding filmmaking.

So they decide to make a movie of their own.

Naturally, they choose a monster movie.

Things go about as well as you'd expect.

While attempting to create their cinematic creature, the Minions somehow bring an actual green monster to life. And their creation has ambitions considerably bigger than simply starring in their movie.

Suddenly, James, Henry and Ed aren't pretending to make movie magic anymore.

They're dealing with a real monster capable of turning Hollywood upside down.

Directed by longtime Despicable Me filmmaker Pierre Coffin, Minions & Monsters uses the silent-film era as a natural playground for the Minions' physical comedy while introducing a new chapter from their very long history.

The film also introduces Ed, the first Minion who doesn't speak, communicating with James and Henry through Minionese sign language.

The voice cast includes Trey Parker, Allison Janney, Christoph Waltz, Jeff Bridges, Jesse Eisenberg, Bobby Moynihan and Phil LaMarr, with Coffin once again providing the voices of the Minions.

They went to Hollywood to make a monster movie.

They probably should have stuck with special effects.

Minions & Monsters begins streaming exclusively on Peacock October 28, 2026, following its digital and physical release.
