MATCHBOX THE MOVIE

Matchbox The Movie Turns Childhood Friends Into Unlikely Heroes

Sean Walker came home to reconnect with his childhood friends.

Saving the world wasn't supposed to be part of the reunion.

John Cena stars in Matchbox The Movie, a globetrotting action adventure inspired by Mattel's iconic Matchbox toys.

Cena plays Sean, a former soldier and undercover CIA agent who returns to the small town he once called home and reconnects with the group of friends he grew up with.

They haven't seen much of their former leader in years.

They're about to get a pretty good explanation why.

Sean's secret life follows him home when he and his friends become caught up in a dangerous international conspiracy involving a stolen nuclear weapon.

Things get considerably worse when the CIA comes to believe that Sean and his friends are responsible for taking it.

Now a group of ordinary childhood friends finds itself running from the very people who should be trying to stop the real threat.

Their solution is ambitious:

Find the nuclear weapon, steal it back and clear their names.

The mission sends the group on an international chase where Sean's experience as a spy may be the only thing keeping his old friends alive.

Also starring Jessica Biel, Matchbox The Movie takes the familiar toy brand beyond the miniature cars and turns it into a large-scale action adventure built around friendship, espionage and plenty of vehicles.

They grew up playing together.

Now they have to save the world together.

Matchbox The Movie begins streaming October 9 on Apple TV.
