Heart of the Beast Sends Brad Pitt Into the Alaskan Wilderness

Surviving the wilderness is one thing. Surviving it when someone else is depending on you is something else entirely.

Brad Pitt stars in Heart of the Beast, an intense survival thriller from director David Ayer about a Special Forces officer and the combat dog who may be his best chance of making it home alive.

Pitt plays James Belmont, whose journey takes a terrifying turn when a plane crash leaves him stranded deep in the Alaskan wilderness.

But James isn't alone.

Alongside him is Odin, his highly trained combat dog and trusted companion.

Cut off from civilization, the two are forced to rely on each other as they battle the unforgiving elements and dangers of the wilderness. What begins as a fight to survive gradually becomes something more personal as the bond between soldier and dog is pushed to its limits.

For James, getting out alive isn't simply about saving himself.

It's about making sure Odin gets out too.

Directed by David Ayer, Heart of the Beast combines survival adventure with a story about loyalty, sacrifice and the connection between a soldier and the animal that has fought alongside him.

The movie's tagline probably says it best:

It's not who you live for… It's who you'd die for.

And somewhere in the Alaskan wilderness, James and Odin may have to prove exactly how far that loyalty goes.
