GUARDING STARS

Guarding Stars Turns a Holiday Assignment Into an Unexpected Romance

She's supposed to protect him.

Falling in love with him definitely wasn't part of the job.

Guarding Stars stars Leighton Meester and Jared Padalecki in a holiday romantic comedy about two people whose very different worlds collide during what should have been a straightforward security assignment.

Meester plays a no-nonsense professional bodyguard who takes her job seriously and isn't particularly interested in distractions.

Especially romantic ones.

Padalecki plays a charming Hollywood action star who seems to have everything; fame, success and the kind of lifestyle most people can only imagine.

But even movie stars need protection.

When she's assigned to keep him safe over the Christmas holidays, the two find themselves spending considerably more time together than either expected.

At first, it's strictly professional.

She's there to do a job.

He's the client.

Then things start getting complicated.

As the holidays unfold, their very different personalities begin creating an unexpected connection. And as secrets emerge and the boundaries between their professional and personal lives become harder to maintain, both must confront feelings neither planned on developing.

Inspired by Katherine Center's bestselling 2022 novel The Bodyguard, the film brings the popular romance into a festive setting filled with Christmas traditions, unexpected chemistry and the complications of falling for someone you're supposed to be protecting.

Directed by Elizabeth Allen Rosenbaum, Guarding Stars also stars Andie MacDowell, Noah LaLonde, Toby Sandeman, Rachael Ancheril and Shaun Johnston, with country singer Walker Hayes making his acting debut.

She's trained to recognize threats, maintain boundaries and never let her guard down.

Unfortunately, nobody prepared her for the one thing she can't simply protect herself against.

Falling in love.

Guarding Stars begins streaming exclusively on Netflix November 18, 2026.
