Godzilla Minus Zero Brings the Terror Back to Japan

Japan survived Godzilla once.

Now, just as the country is beginning to rebuild, he's coming back.

Godzilla Minus Zero continues the story of Godzilla Minus One, moving forward to 1949, two years after Godzilla's devastating attack left an already war-torn Japan fighting for survival.

The country has spent those years struggling to recover.

Communities are rebuilding, families are attempting to reclaim ordinary lives, and the people who survived have finally begun to believe that peace might be possible again.

Then another threat arrives.

And this time, there may be no second chance.

Ryunosuke Kamiki returns as Koichi Shikishima, the former kamikaze pilot whose battle with guilt, trauma and Godzilla formed the emotional center of Godzilla Minus One.

Minami Hamabe also returns as Noriko Oishi, who survived the destruction of Tokyo, as the story once again focuses on the Shikishima family when Godzilla's return threatens everything they've fought to rebuild.

Written and directed by Takashi Yamazaki, Godzilla Minus Zero marks another milestone for the Japanese franchise as the first Japanese-produced Godzilla movie filmed for IMAX.

Godzilla Minus One asked what happens when a country already reduced to zero encounters something capable of pushing it even lower.

Two years later, Japan has finally started climbing back.

Godzilla is about to find out how hard they'll fight to keep from falling again.
