Long before DeSean Jackson became one of football's most explosive playmakers, his family was already documenting the journey.

Go Deep: The DeSean Jackson Story tells Jackson's story through an extraordinary collection of home videos filmed over 35 years by his older brother, Byron Jackson.

What began as one brother pointing a camera at another ultimately captured something much bigger than football.

At the center of the documentary are DeSean, Byron and their father, Bill Jackson, a man convinced football could provide his sons with opportunities their family had never experienced.

Bill pushed them relentlessly toward that goal. His determination came from love, but his intensity could also create conflict with coaches, organizations and even those closest to him.

Byron eventually walked away from his own professional football aspirations and pursued filmmaking, while continuing to document his younger brother's rise.

And DeSean's rise was remarkable.

Despite being considered undersized and overlooked throughout his journey, he went from a standout at Long Beach Polytechnic High School to an All-American at Cal before beginning a 15-year NFL career.

But Go Deep isn't simply interested in touchdowns and career highlights.

The documentary also examines the pressure, controversies, difficult decisions and family sacrifices behind DeSean's success through footage captured while those moments were actually happening, rather than relying entirely on memories years later.

Now, with Jackson beginning another chapter of his football life as a college head coach, the film looks back at the family that helped get him there and what pursuing one shared dream ultimately demanded from all of them.
