Forgotten Island Sends Two Best Friends Into a World of Filipino Mythology

What if getting home meant forgetting the person who matters most?

Forgotten Island is a new animated adventure starring H.E.R. and Liza Soberano as Jo and Raissa, lifelong best friends who are preparing to go their separate ways after graduating from high school.

Before beginning the next chapters of their lives, the two spend one final night together only to stumble across a mysterious portal that transports them to Nakali, a fantastical island filled with magical creatures and legendary figures they recognize from stories told by their Filipino families.

Some of those creatures are willing to help them.

Others are considerably more dangerous.

Along the way, Jo and Raissa team up with Raww (Dave Franco), a well-meaning but somewhat hapless weredog, and an unlikely group of new friends as they search for a way back home.

Standing in their way is the Dreaded Manananggal, voiced by Lea Salonga, one of the most feared creatures on the island.

But defeating monsters may not be the hardest part of their journey.

Jo and Raissa discover that escaping Nakali comes with a devastating price: returning home could erase every memory they have of their friendship.

Now the two must find another way off the island before their memories disappear completely and two best friends who have known each other nearly their entire lives become strangers.

Blending fantasy, friendship and creatures inspired by Filipino mythology, Forgotten Island turns an adventure about finding a way home into a story about holding onto the people and memories that helped make us who we are.

Forgotten Island arrives in theaters September 25, 2026.
