Steven Spielberg returns to the world of UFOs with Disclosure Day, a science-fiction mystery thriller that explores what could happen when evidence of extraterrestrial life becomes impossible to ignore.

Emily Blunt stars as Margaret Fairchild, a Kansas City television reporter whose ordinary life changes during a live broadcast when she experiences a mysterious event she can't explain.

Suddenly, Margaret finds herself caught in something much bigger than a news story.

Her search for answers begins pulling her deeper into a mystery surrounding UFOs, unexplained phenomena and the possibility that the truth about extraterrestrial life has been hidden from the public.

But Disclosure Day isn't simply about discovering whether aliens exist.

The film explores what undeniable proof could mean for billions of people whose understanding of science, religion, faith and humanity might suddenly be challenged at the same time.

Spielberg developed the original story from his longtime fascination with UFO sightings and reports, drawing inspiration from everything from Roswell to modern UAP investigations. He collaborated on the screenplay with David Koepp, whose previous work with Spielberg includes Jurassic Park and War of the Worlds.

For Spielberg, it's a return to territory that has shaped some of his most memorable films, but with a different question at the center.
