About By Any Means

By Any Means Pairs an FBI Agent With a Mafia Hitman

What happens when the law isn't enough to deliver justice?

By Any Means is a historical crime thriller inspired by true events, starring Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Mark Wahlberg as two men from completely different worlds who find themselves fighting the same enemy.

Set against the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s, the film follows Wayne Strider (Abdul-Mateen), a young Black FBI agent sent to Mississippi to investigate a series of brutal killings targeting civil rights leaders.

But solving those crimes means entering a world where racism, fear and corruption have made finding witnesses difficult and following the normal rules may not be enough.

That's where Greg Scarpa (Wahlberg) comes in.

Scarpa is a notorious mafia hitman whose methods couldn't be further from those of a federal investigator. Forced to work together, Strider and Scarpa begin hunting for those responsible while approaching justice from two very different perspectives.

Strider believes in working within the law.

Scarpa doesn't have that particular limitation.

As their investigation takes them deeper into a dangerous network of violence and intimidation, the line between justice and vengeance becomes increasingly difficult to define.

Inspired by extraordinary events surrounding real FBI investigations during the Civil Rights era, By Any Means puts an unlikely partnership at the center of a much bigger question:

When the system itself is broken, how far should someone be willing to go to make things right?

By Any Means is now playing in theaters.
