ALLEN

Allen Brings an Alien Friendship Back to Earth After 20 Years

Petey had a best friend growing up.

He just happened to be from another planet.

Allen is a heartwarming Netflix adventure about childhood friendship, growing up and what happens when someone you thought you'd lost forever suddenly comes back into your life.

Set in a coastal town in Queensland, Australia, the story follows Petey, a man whose childhood was shaped by an extraordinary friendship with an alien named Allen.

For Petey, Allen wasn't simply some mysterious visitor from outer space.

He was his best friend.

The two shared the kind of connection that can make childhood feel magical, creating memories Petey would carry with him long after their time together ended.

Then one day, Allen disappeared.

No explanation.

No goodbye.

And no way for Petey to understand why his closest friend had suddenly vanished.

Twenty years later, Petey still hasn't moved on.

While the rest of the world has continued changing around him, part of Petey remains attached to the childhood friendship he never fully understood or got over.

Then something extraordinary happens.

Allen comes back.

But this isn't exactly the reunion Petey imagined.

His old friend has returned with a secret that could change everything, not just for Petey, but potentially for the entire world.

And helping Allen may require Petey to finally confront something he's spent years avoiding.

Growing up.

As the two reconnect, their unexpected adventure becomes a journey through old memories, new responsibilities and the realization that friendship sometimes means being there for someone when the stakes are bigger than either of you ever imagined.

Created by Daley Pearson, Allen draws inspiration from the filmmaker's own childhood experiences growing up in Queensland, bringing a personal connection to its story of family, friendship and the moments that shape who we become.

At its heart, the film explores the lasting impact of childhood relationships and the complicated emotions that come with revisiting a part of your life you thought was gone forever.

Petey spent 20 years wishing his best friend would come back.

Now that Allen has returned, he may finally have to become the person his old friend needs him to be.

Allen begins streaming exclusively on Netflix November 12, 2026.
