ABOVE THE BELOW

Above the Below Traps Three Astronauts Between Space and the Ocean Floor

They survived a disaster in space.

Now they have to survive getting back to Earth.

Above the Below stars Idris Elba, Caitlin FitzGerald and Hero Fiennes Tiffin in a survival thriller that turns a mission home from space into a desperate fight against time.

Three astronauts are returning to Earth when a catastrophic incident sends their spacecraft off course during re-entry.

They survive the terrifying descent.

But instead of a safe landing, their capsule crashes into the ocean and begins sinking.

Deep beneath the surface.

Trapped inside the damaged spacecraft, the astronauts quickly realize that surviving the crash was only the beginning of their nightmare.

They've lost contact with mission control.

The crushing pressure of the ocean surrounds them.

And their oxygen supply is running out.

With no immediate way to reach the surface or signal for help, the crew must rely on their training, instincts and one another as they search for a way out of an increasingly hopeless situation.

But the deeper their capsule sinks, the more dangerous their circumstances become.

Every decision carries enormous consequences, and the astronauts are forced to confront impossible choices as they struggle against both the unforgiving environment and the rapidly disappearing time they have left.

Co-directed by Idris Elba and Martin Owen, Above the Below combines the isolation of a space thriller with the claustrophobic terror of being trapped deep underwater.

These astronauts trained for the dangers of space.

Nobody prepared them for what would happen after they made it back to Earth.

Above the Below arrives exclusively in theaters December 4, 2026.
